The task
In a test assignment, I was asked to make interaction maps and logics for Figma on iPad. At the same time, the main input method should be Apple Pencil.
Also, it was necessary to show the following:
- Navigating on canvas
- Selecting elements
- Modifying elements
- Showing specific flow:
Creating a rectangle
Modifying rectangle after creation
Dimensions
Move and rotate by various center points
Copy
Preparation
I do not consider the relevance of the problem and do not consider product market fit based on the task. But I will briefly describe how I would do it:
- Identify potential users
- Find out how they use the current product
- What pains they have and what their needs are
- Come up with a hypothesis, build a prototype/MVP/something
- Tested the solution
Research
At the moment, there is no Figma for an iPad. But there is a third-party application that partially works, but cannot open large files on my iPad 2018.

Figurative
After trying to work on the application, I noticed a few things:
- Working with a pen is more local than with a mouse, the pen is difficult to move over long distances
- The iPad screen is smaller than the computer screen, there is no space for layouts when the panels are open as on a computer
